Nowadays, one part of the population argues that individuals cannot have an effect on our planet by defending it. On the other hand, there are some who believe that each person should be responsible for the environment. This essay will discuss both sides of this argument to give a final opinion.
Currently, the environmental problems of our planet are practically always global. In other words, without the intervention of the government, people cannot do something to protect the environment. For instance, ozone depletion is one of the biggest environmental problems, and people are unable to solve this problem, as this problem does not always occur because of humans, and by reducing or adopting some good habits, people will not prevent this problem. Therefore, to solve such problems, we need to involve a government agency, as the efforts of ordinary people will not be enough.
Moreover, some individuals argue that ordinary people will be able to solve these problems. This argument comes from the fact that many global problems are caused in part by people and their habits. For example, because of the emissions that factories emit, we have global problems such as global warming or simple air pollution. Additionally, some plants throw away waste into the water, and this leads to ocean acidification. Furthermore, water pollution will be the cause of such issues as water scarcity all over the world. Additionally, desertification will be inevitable in countries with hot climates. Therefore, people should reduce or even stop altogether doing such kinds of things, which are hazardous to the environment.
In conclusion, without taking into account some global problems which are hard to prevent, in my opinion ordinary people will be able to solve some of the issues concerning the environment if they try to do so.
