The line chart compares how the average monthly costs of three materials (Copper, Nickel, Zinc) altered in 2014.
Overall, the period witnessed the oscillation in all the price alterations in the three materials, as they similarly had a marked downward trend. In addition, the figures for Nickel at first reached a peak then in the middle of 2014, dramatically plummeted to hit a trough.
Looking first at January, compared with previous month, prices of Copper and Zinc modified marginally at 2 and 1% respectively, as opposed to the data of Nickel, which peaked at 6%. Then, the figures for three materials declined sharply throughout 4 months later, reaching all negative percentages in changes in June. Especially, this month also exhibited a rapid fall of 9% to hit -3% in the cost of Nickel.
Turning to July, the percentage of Copper, Zinc and Nickel price modifications crawled slightly then plateaued at 1%, -0,5% and -3% respectively. However, the final quarter from September to December represented a little drop to margin ascend in all three figures, resulting that in the end of period, Zinc cost changed 2% while Copper and Nickel just roughly 1%.
