The charts show information about the education levels of people in Glasgow in 2010, divided by age group and gender.
Overall, younger people had higher education levels compared to older people. Also, men and women had similar results, but men had a slightly higher percentage of university graduates.
In terms of age groups, most people aged 16 to 50 had a school certificate, with the highest being 76% in the 24–35 age group. Only 9% in these age groups had a university degree, and around 15–20% had no qualifications. However, the situation was different for older people. In the 50–75 group, 30% had a university degree, and 50% had no qualifications. In the 75+ group, 72% had no qualifications, and only 3% had a university degree.
Looking at gender, women had a slightly higher percentage of people with no qualifications (38%) compared to men (35%). On the other hand, 33% of men had university degrees, while only 29% of women did. The percentage of people with a school certificate was about the same for both genders (33%).
To sum up, education levels were generally higher in younger age groups, and the difference between men and women was small.
