The line graph demonstrates the number of tourists from overseas that has visited three different types of areas in europe. The data are collected from the years 1987 to 2007 on the areas such as the coast, the mountains and the lakes with the number of visitors illustrated in thousands.
It can be seen that the the highest number of visitors were recorded in the year 2002 and 2007 in the lakes and the coast respectively. Comparatively the least popular destination was the the lakes in the year 1987.
Furthermore the graph also shows that a moderate increase of only 10000 visitors was seen for lakes till 1997 with a stop at 30000 visitors then leading to a minor increase by 2007. The number of visitors for lakes has gradually increased to 40000 in the year 1997 has suddenly increased to a 75000 in 2002 but has droppd in 2007 with a 25000 difference. The number of foreighn visitors has dropped in 1992 from 40000 but has gradually increased to a 75000 in the mid of the year 2007.
Overall the overseas visitors has been biased towards the coastal lines and a minor attraction to the mountains whereas the popularity of the lakes has significantly dropped.
