Some individuals believe that schools should prioritize practical techniques over theoretical ones. While others suggest that paying attention on academic knowledge is way more necessary. From my point of view, I strongly believe that both of them are essential for our learning.
To begin with, theoretical subjects such as math, physic, chemistry play a crucial role in enhancing our critical thinking and solving problem skill. Due to the complexity of these subjects, students need to use their brain efficiently. For instance, to solve math problems, learners need to apply and combine math theory and brainstorming. Furthermore, academic knowledge is needed to obtain certifications which may support learners to apply for stable jobs. Take medical jobs as an example, it requires workers to have a deep understanding and a suitable certification in this field to be employed. Therefore, without theoretical knowledge, it can be extremely hard to have a great employment.
On the other hand, hands-on experience is also beneficial for students in some case. Firstly, nowadays, most companies focus more on employing people who are master in using practical techniques so that students who have these skills may have more employment opportunities than others. Moreover, with these hands-on abilities, students may become more adaptable with working conditions from the easiest to the hardest. For example, learners who have suffered from challenging issues before can easily and rapidly deal with similar problems.
In conclusion, while academic theory are undeniable important, hands-on techniques are also necessary for overall development. In my view, I strongly believe that schools should combine these two things in learning progress to support students to have a clear preparation before having a job.
