In 1985, America football held the highest place with about 35% of US people chose this sport over others. Its rate then fluctuated for 15 years before increased dramatically to over 40% in 2005 and remained static since. Basketball’s rate first rised gradually before experiencing a small drop in 2005. It then climbed up again and reached its peak in 2015 with approximately 25%. Other sports witnessed a steady trend, increasing a total of 5% over the period.
While starting with approximately the same number of fans as American football, baseball fondness plummeted remarkably over the years. Its rate first dropped to 27% in 2000, then shrinked to 16% in 2015. The number of hockey fans decreased moderately during the period, making hockey the least favourite in 2015 with only 5%.
