To begin with, around 6 millions Japanese tourists travelled abroad in 1985 and 1986, and after that the number of steadily increased. In addition to this, from 1990 to 1993,approximately 12 millions Japanese tourists travelled abroad. Apart from this, by 1995,nearly 16 millions Japanese tourists had travelled overseas.
Furthermore, the proportion of Japanese tourists visiting Australia was two percent in 1985 and this share constantly increased. Moving further, in 1988, the percentage of the Japanese market accounted for approximately 6% but then it was slight decline and before it constantly increased. Moreover, by 1994,the percentage of Japan tourists in the market remained at 6%.
