The illustration depicts the process of how glass containers are shaped. Overall, this man-made linear process consists of nine steps which utilizes a number of tools and equipment that takes crushed up pieces of glass and transforming them into well-defined shaped ones.
Firstly, shards of glass are heated in a furnace at 105 degrees celsius. After heating, the hot glass is undergoes the shaping process by first being compressed inside of a mould to give it’s initial shape before being transferred and reshaped inside of another mould via a container with a thick wall.
Afterwards, the moulded substance is aerated before being heated inside of a kiln under high temperatures (482 degrees celsius). Subsequently, the newly shaped glass is cooled at 25 degrees celsius. Once that is done, the glass is placed in a basin to undergo inspection by the producers. Finally, the glasses with the desired shape are packaged and any waste pieces are discarded.
