There is an ongoing debate on whether students should only be allowed to take useful subjects like science and technology in the future, while others say that it is not right to judge or command a student to take up certain educational streams forcefully.

In the modern world, students are getting more and more access and freedom to choose their educational qualifications, this has led them to become hugely successful in their lives helping them make a name for themselves. But forcing someone to study a subject they are not good at or don’t find interesting could lead to negative results in his or her life. For example, students who aren’t good at maths and hence have taken subjects like history or geography cannot simply cope with topics in engineering or other branches of science.

Encouraging them to take up subjects that they prefer helps them build their future by themselves would be better.

Taking in a wider perspective, Science has also tended to die out because of more freedom in the educational system, more and more students are leaning towards business and commerce jobs as compared to research in fields of technology. This has led to vast consequences such as a decrease in human inventions and a halt in technological advancements. Moreover, AI ( Artificial Intelligence) has also made many jobs obsolete, such as accounting which can be done by computers in minutes as compared to humans taking hours and days. Students taking up majors in such fields are unknowingly destroying their future.

In conclusion, the freedom to choose any major should be free for all as forcing someone to do something they do not want is like snatching away their freedom, but more and more emphasis, and promotion should be given to science so that it does not die out completely.
