The table illustrates the stats of various injuries resulting from gun and knife crime in Great Britain between years of 1998 to 2007 and the percentage rise for each degree of injury over the time. The three injuries are fatal, serious and slight Injury.
Overall, the data represent that the total injuries had increased with the going year.
To initiate, crime rate in the year of 1998 to 1999 was lowest where total crime number was 864. In that, only 49 were fatal injuries, serious injuries were 162 while slight injuries were highest at 653. In 1999-2000 and 2000-2001, total crime rate increased around 40% of last stats where again fatal injuries were fewest ranging at 62 and 72 respectively. Fatal injuries were 200 and 244 respectively while it was almost five times for slight injuries. Additionally, for year 2001-2002 also total crime increased and touched the number 1877. In which, 95 were fatal injuries while serious and slight injuries were around 3 times and 15 times to fatal injuries.
Furthermore, from 2002 to 2007, rate of fatal injuries steadily decrease from 80 to 58 only while rate in other injuries still rose from 416 to 476 for serious injuries whereas slight injuries showed huge increase by the time. Starting from 2002, the number was 1683 which become 1862 in next calender year. Subsequently, the number became almost double for the year of 2004-2005 and 2005-2006. The injuries data for serious and slight is not available for 2006-2007 while every injuries showed drastic increase around 99% for next year.
