The bar chart illustrates the percentages of read-books in four types of categories in different countries during 2020. Overall, the books consist of four styles including crime, romance, science fiction and thriller. Although suspense novels cover the largest number of dealing in all regions, science fiction and romantic genres experience close trends, and detective books fluctuated up and down in sale in one year.
The most popular genre of books in all countries in terms of sale was thriller which made up around 22% – 25% of the books are sold in 2020. The second rank to read novels fluctuated between crime and romance. It means that, crime in Brazil and the UK was well-liked almost 23% and 20 % respectively. Whereas, romantic books obtained approximately 25% in Canada and about 22% of the book market in India. Actually, the lowest popularity in all genres belonged to crime in Canada and India (around 10% of book sale), in comparison romance novels which acquired at least reader in the Uk and India (nearly 14% and 17% respectively).
People in all countries were eager to read Science fiction genre in roughly the similar percents. As a result, one in five of sales in the book industry had belonged to sci-fi genre in 2020.
