In the first setup, a besic solar panel consists of a rectengular box with a transparent top that allows sunlight to penerate and trap heat inside. This stracture server as the foundation for both the air-heating and water-heating systems.
In the air-heating system, cool air is drawn into the box through an inlet on one side. Sunlight passes through the transparent top and heats the air inside the box. As the air warms up, it exits through an outlet on the opposite side. This process efficiently converts solar energy into thermal energy, providing warm air for use.
The water-heating system operates similary, but with the addition of a water pipe inside the box. Cool water enters through an inlet and flows through the coiled pipe that runs across the base of the panel. The heat from the sun warms the water as it passes through the pipe, and the heated water then flows out through the outlet.
