Overall, all 5 regions have made an increase during 20 years, with North America and Latin America showed the highest percentage with sharp increase and Africa the lowest. Asia and Africa displayed the gradual decrese and get the 4th and 5th place, respectively.
North America, which started with 4% in 2000 increased by nearly a half in 2020. Similarly, Latin America’s Internet’s onset was nearly 3% which increased to approximately 7%. These two regions show the most sharp increase, overtaking other sectors.
Asia’s Internet’s starting point was 1% which then increased to 5.5%, which shows the increase by 5% totally. Although, Africa is the lowest indicator of Internet usage, it increases from 0% in 2000 to 1.5% in 2020. Asia and Africa get the last places. However, they made significantly increase to nearly 6% and 2%, respectively.
