The bar chart compares the number of volunteers and paid workers who carried out four different tasks in the sports sector in an Australian town in 2015.
Overall, it is clear that volunteers were more common in comparison with paid workers in three out of four roles. In addition, coaching attracted a greater number of volunteers.
Starting with the roles directly related to the sports, approximately 73 volunteers were involved in coaching, compared to only 43 who were paid. However, the difference between the number of volunteers and paid workers was slightly smaller, at 31 and 39 workers, respectively, making it the only sector where the number of paid workers was higher.
Focusing on the rest of the sectors, around 45 people worked as volunteers, while 40 citizens received payment. When it comes to the other unspecified sections, the number of workers who worked there followed a similar pattern. Volunteers made up 58 of the total workers in this sector, whereas the figure for paid ones accounted for 48, making it the second sector in which volunteers were relatively higher the paid workers.
