In present day society, many cities face the issue of whether old buildings should be replaced with new buildings or not. I believe that old buildings should be protected and maintained in the future.
Historic buildings have a lot of value in various ways. In the first place, numerous buildings represent specific historical figures and events. Whereas if the old buildings were razed, this would be directly affected on tourism and also there would be no precise representation of any figures and events anymore. Further, some historical buildings represent the unique lifestyle and the culture of ethnic groups. Without any doubt, it will be the cause of an ethnological disaster because if these old buildings were demolished because of current urban needs.
As we know, due to the rapid increase of the population in urban areas, some historic buildings should be replaced with new buildings like high-rise apartments and markets. Therefore, many people think that if these old buildings should be knocked down to make room for apartments, to overcome the need for space for living. A sensible solution to this problem could be developing urban transport so that people can live easily in nearby suburbs and commute easily every day
To conclude that, old buildings may have occupied a lot of urban space. Their value should not be neglected. I firmly believe that old buildings should be protected and must be looked after by modern cities and the community of these cities.
