An ever-increasing amount of natural resources is being used across the world, and the consumption rates of oil, water, and forests reached a concerning point. The main drivers of overconsumption are increasing demand for these resources and lack of recycling institutions. These issues can be resolved through collaborative actions of governments and establishment of recycling facilities.
One of the leading causes of overconsumption is rising demand for natural resources across the world. This is important because, the consumption of non-recyclable products may eventually lead to their extinction. A case in point is deforestation and dramatic consumption of water worldwide, which in fact leads to its erosion due to the fact that only negligible percentage of water is pure. Another no less important consideration is deforestation, which became increasingly harmful to environment in recent decades. The main objective of cutting trees and even whole forests lies in the usefulness of timber that has became the most used construction material in the last two decades. Furthermore, lack of recycling plants also contributes to the decline of natural resources. Individuals have not realized the importance of recycling yet, and it also worsens the already existing problem.
In order to ease the ongoing situation people should reconsider their decisions in terms of types of products they consume. For instance, excluding the products including excessive amount of oil, as well as reducing the waste of water would become little but crucial steps towards safeguarding natural resources. Another viable option is the establishment of recycling institutions and the implementation of financial incentives for individuals who recycle products. The issue of deforestation, however, can only be reduced to some extent inasmuch as the whole world relies on this particular material for different purposes. Replacing wood with other alternatives would be the most practical option because of plenty alternatives that may be used as construction materials.
In conclusion, while issues like deforestation, resouce-intensiveness and increasing demand from individuals are becoming worse day by day, I strongly believe that imposing financial incentives to recycle and constructing recycling establishments would alleviate most of the existing issues.
