Nowadays, many people believe that government should only spend on individuals of their own nation, rather than to the serve the whole world. I partially agree with this notion and further posterior paragraphs would discuss the reasons behind it.
To begin with, national government of developing countries need to spend majorly of their annual collection in uplifting the government services such as transportation facility, waste material management, water crises in many areas and foremost on education and health. In today’s world, many of the nations are unable to fund these basic things because of limited resources.
On the other hand, it is a social responsibility of all the states across the world to addresses the global issues which are emerging hastily on this planet. Issues like global warming and deforestation have now become global issues which cannot be resolved without cooperation of all the countries and hence would require global support. One more instance from 2020, corona epidemic, which was proved disastrous for the whole world and no single country had the ability to fight it alone, so this kind of global issues must be cured only by joining forces and helping internationally instead of being selfish. In some cases, global relations from others would even help in reduction of defence budget and use it in other ways more efficiently, for example in science and technology or aeronautics, etcetera.
To conclude, in my opinion it is a responsibility of a government to spend resources on people of their own country but only on them would sound short-sighted to me.
