The pie chart illustrates the primary factors that contribute to the decline in agricultural land productivity, while the table provides data on how these factors impacted three different regions of the world in the 1990s.
Overall, it can clearly be seen that over-grazing is the most affected cause of land degradation, particularly found most in Oceania region.
It is vivid that compared to the other two causes, over-grazing was the main factor of land degradation, making up 35%. Notably, other two effects deforestation and over-cultivation were also main causes, consisting of 30% and 28%, respectively. However, they were five times higher that the least one affect at 7%.
The highly degraded region was Europe. Total land degraded accounted for 23%, the primary reason was deforestation at 9.8%. Meanwhile, the Nort America total persentage consisted of 5%, where over-cultivation was the main reason of land degradation. In Oceania, the persentage of over-grazing was five times higher that Europe, it was responsible for 11.3% of land degradation, while others were considereably less around 7 times compared to the Europe.
