The graph above represents the consumption of water globally divided by sector from 1900 to 2000, as the table compares the use of water between Brazil and Congo in 2000. Overall, the graph shows a significant increase during the period, while Brazil had consumed more water than Congo.
Examining the details, Agriculture dominated throughout 1900 until 2000. Agriculture had the highest peak of water consumption globally. In 1990, Agriculture was always above the other sectors, and then slowly rise until 3,000 square metres in 2000. Conversely, Industrial use and Domestic use remained low during the period. Industrial use increased starting from 1950, while Domestic use also grew starting from 1970.
Meanwhile, based on the table, in 2000, Brazil and Congo had differences for water consumption. Brazil had a larger population and irrigated land, so that made Brazil have higher water consumption per person than Congo. Brazil consumed 359 square metres per person, while Congo consumed 8 square metres per person.
