The line graph illustrates the number of crimes across three categories car theft, house burglary, and street robbery in a specific city of the United States between 1980 and 2000.
Overall, there was a decrease in the number of cases involving car theft and street robbery, while an increase was seen in house burglary. It is also clear that street robbery consistently had by far the lowest figures throughout the period, even though a slight rise was shown in the first 10 years.
Crime numbers in car theft started at about 350 cases, after which it saw a considerable decrease to precisely 250 cases 10 years later. Opposite changes can be seen in the figures for house burglary and street robbery, which went up to roughly 315 and 100 cases in the first half of the period.
From 1990 to 2000, the number of crimes in house burglary decreased significantly, dropping to 215 cases. The figure for street robbery saw a similar pattern, gradually falling to just under 50 cases. By contrast, the number of thieves stealing cars kept rising to exactly 300 in 2000.
