In contrast, the figures of using both Uber and Lyft witnessed an increase. In January 2015, the Uber trips stood at just below 100K, increasing significantly until the early 2018, with the peak at around 450K. Notably, the trips by Uber surpassed those by Yellow Taxi, becoming the most widely used service thereafter. After January 2018, the usage of Uber continued to rise. Meanwhile, the trips by Lyft had experienced a steady rise since the mid-2015, reaching the highest point at approximately 150K by January 2018. Afterwards, the number of everyday use of Lyft rose modestly and levelled off briefly, followed by a drop in the end.
