At least for the last century the main goals of most of the countries are achieving financial success and economical development. At the same time, striving to get it, many nations lose they cultural values, identity, and unity. I believe that the positive consequnces outweigh the negative ones if social norms are not ignored. This essay will analyze both perspective of the changes supported by real examples and present my personal opinion on the topic.
On the one hand, economical development of any country not only increases quality of life of its citizens but also makes contribution to the global situation. For example, despite of the population growth, the global food crises greatly reduced for the last 50 years over the World. Moreover, breakthrough in science and medicine is one of the effects too, which helps to fight diseases, such as cancer or sugar diabetes.
On the other hand, focus on financial prosperity is often followed by lost of important social values, such as honesty, justice, and unity. Based on history books and movies, times have changed significantly and people do not care about others as much as they used to. For instance, individuals may ignore everything just to get money and own a huge capital, sometimes, even if it requires to break a law.
In my opinion, economic development is a proper aim, but on the way to success, society and the government should not to overlook social values and community. In that case, advantages of economic prosperity are definitely outweigh all possible disadvantages.
