Overall, in the UK, Leisure has been the biggest factor in both years. While in New Zealand, the biggest factor was Food & drinks, and in the later chart, it changed to Utility bills. On the other hand, Other has always cost the least for both years and both countries. It is also noticeable that Transport has decreased in both countries. However, the biggest changes in both countries are in Food & drink, with both decreasing.
In the UK, from 1980 to 2008, Leisure has been the biggest factor, starting from 27% then increasing by 7% to 34%. However, in New Zealand, the biggest percentage was for Food & Drink, at 29%, then by 2008 it had changed to Utility bills at 31%. On the other hand, Other has always been the smallest in both countries, starting at 9% then transforming into 11%.
Other than this, there have been some changes, such as Transport decreasing for both countries by 1%. Another very noticeable change is Food & drinks decreasing in both destinations. In 1980, the UK had a percentage of 23%, then decreased by 10% to 13%. While in New Zealand, Food & drinks decreased by 4%, from 29% to 25%.
