The given bar chart demonstrates the proportion of several household appliances used by the British from the year 2001 to 2008.
Overall, while most of the items saw a considerable increase within the 7 years period, telephone was the only one that got a slight decrease in percentage.
Even though telephones’ usage did fall down to around 90 percent, equalling to microwaves and CD players in 2008, it was the highest one back in 2001, with almost every family using it. In contrasts to telephones, internet was one of the gadgets that was used the least in 2001, with very slightly more than 10 percent using it.
That being said, by 2008, internet had a significant grow in usage, quadrupbled the amount in 2001, at 60 percent. Despite the serious increase in dishwashers, doubled what they were in 2001, the rise in internet usage made them the lowest used device among the 8 appliances, with less than half the portion of British families using them.
