People have different views as to whether online studying is better than traditional one. While studying online can come up with several benefits associated with the save of time and money, I believe it can erode essential interpersonal skills.

Perhaps the most significant advantage of online education is a considerable amount of money and time it saves. Since individuals study at home, they don’t need to cover imperceptible expenses for public transport and commute long distances between home and school, meaning that they are more likely to have more time and money, enabling them to allocate them more productively. As a result, this not only serves as a powerful catalyst for improving academic performance and attain academic achievement, but also can bring economic advantages by saving money which is spending on taxis, buses, or subways, all of which in the long-term can be a huge amount of money. A prime example is university students who instead of traditional learning, choose to remo, thereby cutting down on daily spendings and having more time for studying. By contrast, traditional learners must wait for transport, commute to educational institutions and after several lessons go to home by taxi or bus, all of which can be not only exhausting and inefficient, but also raise serious financial concerns in the long-run. In this context, studying online appears to be a remarkable time-efficient and be a more cost-effective than offline learning.

Despite these favourable merits, I strongly presume that studying online can bring detrimental consequences, one of which is the lack of face-to-face communication. With many students choose to studying online, primarily due to its flexibility and convenience, they don’t tend meet with their friends, so they talk with them through applications such as Telegram or Instagram through texts, emoji, and voice messages, thereby missing out on valuable opportunities to practise their social skills. Consequently, this not only causes mutual misunderstandings, but also individuals would lack the ability to navigate the complexities of small talk and deep conversations, ultimately leading to the rise of conflicts in both professional and personal relationships. A perfect case in point are students again, who choose online studying over offline and spend the most of their time indoors by immersing themselves in studies, thereby losing a valuable chances to enhance their vital interpersonal abilities. In this regard, online education can dramatically impair social skills.

To sum up, although studying online can yield significant gains by saving time and money and enabling learners to devote more for studies, I strongly contend that it is detrimental effects on soft skills far outweigh these benefits.
