I learned something very quickly when I studied Arabic translation in high school. My high school was an Islamic school, so we were required to learn Arabic translation. I think Arabic translation is the most difficult subject I have ever learned, but at that time, I needed to learn it quickly because I had to study the Al-Quran, Hadith, and so on. I also learned the Malay script through the Arabic alphabet. It resembles Arabic transcription or translation. I had an effective way to learn Arabic translation by trying to remember the keywords I needed to learn each day. For three consecutive years, I was able to translate Arabic texts, maybe three to four paragraphs at a time. Besides remembering some keywords, I also learned to write in Arabic and read texts in Arabic. I watched YouTube to boost my ability to speak and write in Arabic, and it was really useful for my Arabic translation skills.
