The map illustrates the town of Garlsdon and the two proposed locations of supermarket (S). Overall, the town of Garlsdon has the population of 65,000 inhabitants and is near three towns which are Hindon, Bransdon and Cransdon.
The first proposed location from supermarket (S1) would be located in the countryside of Garlsdon. It’s location is just outside the housing area of Garlsdon. There is only one main road that goes towards it from the town centre that ultimately leads to Hindon, which is about a 12km distance. There is also a railway overpassing the supermarket (S1) on the opposite side.
The other proposed location for supermarket (S2) is located directly at the town centre, which is also a no traffic zone. However, the train does go along the area. There are three main roads that are from the town centre. These roads lead to different towns which are Bransdon, Cransdon and as previously mentioned, Hindon. This location is closer with the industrial area compared to supermarket (S1).
