Given the graph shows the amount of inquiries that came to the Tourist Information Office in one unspecified city during the half year interval in 2011.
Overall, it can be seen from the line graph that, while contacting by letter or email became an outdated method of enquiring, whereas the other two methods became much more common. Inquiring in person showed an increasing trend after fluctuations during the six months period, contacting by phone, once was the least used method, became the most common way of requesting.
Starting off with the only line that showed decreasing patterns, getting information via letter or email. In January, the method was the second most used means of inquiring, with about 780 requests for a month, however through the rest of the period it became less common, declining every month steadily. In the final month, Jun, the total number of email enquirers was about 380 people, nearly half of the enquirers in the beginning of the period.
Focusing on remaining methods, contacting in person and by telephone, both showed an upward trend. Requesting by phone, a method that used to be the most practical, became the second most used way, climbing from approximately 920 to exactly 1400, increasing by 50 percent. Finally, inquiring in person, the least used way in January with roughly 410 users, showed a boom in the number of inquiries, reaching 1900 in the final month, 300 more enquirers than people using telephone, being the dominant means of asking questions.
