The bar charts show the percentage of male and female english-speaking students aged between 14 and 16 who studied foreign language in 1984 and 2007, and the top 3 languages (German , french and spanish)

Overall, the number of partipicans dicreased overtime, and the majorty was girls. While the popularity of French and German felt, Spanich bacame more popular.

In 1984, the number of girl sudents was more to a third before a small drop. To be more specific, it was just under 50% it stopped at 40 %. The same situation with boy students- there was a drop from 30% to about 35%.

French was the most popular language in 1984 , twice as high as other two. Being at 50%, its popularity halved in 2007. A less dramatic decline can be seen with German: it fell from 20% to around 12%.
