What I would say it has changed a lot. In the past people will just stick into their own country. But today a lot of people are going abroad to have a dual citizenship. To cite an example, Filipinos, professional nurses would like to go to the UK or to the US. not only for job but to secure a citizenship. Because they are aware they will gain a lot of benefits.
