The chart illustrates the two surveys carried out in a university regarding the reasons behind choosing the particular subjects in two different years in 2003 and 2023.
Overall, the proportion of students selecting the university is mostly for programs offered by it. Whereas, in another year the reason behind choosing is particularly due to academic reputation of the university.
In 2003, the percentage of pupils selecting the university through networking and alumni connections was around 15% and which was raised by a small margin and reaching just above 15% in the year 2023. Students choosing the university by considering the resources comprise almost 12% in 2003 which soared to nearly 20% in the end of period in 2023. The factors like financial considerations and location dropped massively over the timeframe of 2003 and 2023. There is a surge in the proportion of students from 2003 to 2023 in diversity inclusion and campus life which were almost similar and reached around 15%.
Beyond this, the other consideration for choosing the university is due to numerous programs offered by it. However it has plunged by almost threefold of its previous 30% and reaching to almost 10%. The student choosing the university for academic reputation is just above 10% which was approxiamtely 10 % in the year of 2003.
