The bar chart compares the proportion of female students who had access to tertiary education in five different nations, namely the UK, the USA, Canda, Japan and Germany in two different time periods.
Overall, the number in 2005 was higher than that of 1970, and Canada held the highest amount in both years whereas Japan was the lowest.
In 1970, Canada had the highest percentage at 60%, followed by Germany at around 50%. Among the remaining three countries, the USA was the highest at almost 40%, and the UK and Japan had approximately 35% and 20% respectively.
In 2005, Canada still occupied the highest position at 60%. The same amount of percentage could also be seen in the UK where there was a 25% increase. The USA and Germany also had similar values which were between 50% and 60%. Japan also encountered a notable increase and its figure doubled and reached just over 40%.
