ThThe given diagram depicts steps by steps on how an Australian city recycles storm water in order to produce usable water for the residents.
Overall, there are approximately 5 basic steps in the process of making potable water from recycled storm water. Beginning with the collection of rainwater and ending with the potable water pumping into each household through pipes.
The first step in the process is to collect rainwater during a large downpour through drains in the ground and then be channeled via a pipe to a water recycling plant. There are four stages of filtration at the plant, including rubbish, small particles, bacteria, viruses, molecules, and salt.
The subsequent stage is when the water has been filtered, it is sent to another container to be added chlorine, at approximately 4mg/litre for further treatment. After that, the water is stored in a large storage tank before it is transferred to Australian households
