In 2000, the two countries’ rates converged then, their rates reversed in the following years. Then it is followed, Indonesia rose significantly, increasing from approximately 20% to 58%. This figure surpassed the Philippines, reaching the second largest percentage, while Thailand’s percentage was lower compared to the others in the following years.
Looking at the other countries’ percentages, Malaysia started at 30%, while the Philippines started at just below 30%. In the first ten years, the Philippines had a downward trend, while Malaysia depicted a marginal rise. Conversely, in the second ten-year period, this situation became the opposite. After that, Malaysia illustrated a substantial soar, increasing from about 43% to 80% in the following years.
Meanwhile, the Philippines experienced a rapid decline, decreasing from 50% to 40% until 2010. After that, its rate showed a minor escalation, and predictions indicate that this increase will continue.
