Nowadays, wildlife conservation is the most crucial in the world. While some individuals believe that every wild animal should be conserved, others argue that only selected ones should be protected. This essay will discuss both views, and I firmly believe that all animals has a role in the environment.
There are several reasons why to focus on protecting all animals. Firstly, every animal plays a major role in protecting the ecosystem, which may collapse the ecological balance. In other words, species contribute uniquely to ecological stability and maintain food chains. Therefore, extinction of one species could breakdown to ecoloical equilibrium and negatively affect others. For example, if insects, especially bees, disappear from the world, pollination of the flowers would stop. As a result, food production would be affected, and the earth will become a death zone. Secondly, people should have a responsibility to protect wild animals because human activities such as deforestation, pollution and hunting destroy their habitats.
On the other hand, governments do not have sufficient funding for wildlife conservation because they allocate money for prioritised needs such as healthcare and education. Authorities only consider protecting the identified endangered animals. For instance, the Sri Lankan government and non-government organizations are organizing several sea turtle protection campaigns because they are at high risk of extinction. Moreover, certain species are capable for adapting to environmental changes naturally. However, giving more attention to protect selected species is mandatory even if they are at high risk, but protecting all animals is crucial.
To sum up, although not considering valuable species protection would have an extremely negative impact, I believe that people should focus on protecting all wild animals.
