The graph shows summary proportion of population elder people (aged 65 and over) from 1940 to 2040 in Japan , Sweden and United states of America.
Overall, as compared in the graph we saw insignificant declines and increases about 2-3 % in three different countries before 2000 , but after this year population will grow rapidly.
The population of the USA aged 65 and over is expected to grow significantly by 2040 (with 22%), while Sweden also didn’t lag behind even will overtake the United States in percentage of senior citizens until 2040 (25%).
By the way Japan had the lowest number of elderly people in country, but as we see on the graph, population will grow significantly after 2020 and will lead with whole 28 %
