Learning the distinction between good and bad is an essential part of a young child’s education. some people feel that in order to teach this difference it is necessary to punish them. I partially agree with this idea, and I believe it really depends on the type of punishment; no violence should be allowed.
Children always tend to have fun all day, perhaps they do not understand what is right or wrong for them, and they will do inappropriate things if parents do not punish them. From an overall perspective children, who are under control are often punished by their parents/teachers; they have good behavior and understand the positive and negative things.
Sometimes punishment is not the only thing to help children to learn good or negative distinctions but also counseling. Through counseling, their primary educators can help them to learn what is good and bad for them and help them to understand that of positive impact, which results in to make them wise decisions; help them to learn decent behavior, which leads to them being good human beings in life. On the contrary, another form of punishment could be helpful to help them learn decent behavior, and the differences between positive and negative at a younger stage are lessening their pocket money and reducing their pastime as a form of punishment; this will result in abiding by the parents.
To sum up, I feel that punishment is required to control children’s thinking processes and their behavior which can make them learn the differences between good and bad other than violence. on the other hand, counseling is also significant.
