Overall, the number of city population within the three cities increased gradually. City A consistently recorded the highest number of population, followed by City B and City C respectively. Furthermore, City A also had the greatest population increase throughout the period.
City A had approximately 8 million residents in 1980. This figure rose to around 12 million in 1990 and continued to increase steadily for the next 30 years. In 2020, City A recorded population of above 20 million, making it the highest between all cities.
In comparison, City B started at 5 million of urban population. The population also grew from around 7 million in 1990 to 15 millions in 2020. Similarly, urban residents of City C was below 5 million at the beginning of the period. Despite the rise, it reached just under 10 million people in 2010, making it the least populous city during the observed years.
