Although this project might have a positive effect on the future of science, I believe that taxpayers' money should be spent on immediate problems. The reason for this is that people have to benefit from the money they pay every month to the government. By spending and financing projects like improving the healthcare system in a country or enhancing the transportation system, the government can impact more people. Additionally, some environmental problems addressed by the government can have a much more significant impact on more people in the country and on older people around the world. For example, some governments in European countries allow individuals to choose how their taxes should be allocated, although options are limited.
