The bar chart demonstrates the amount of energy used by four sectors – Transport, Industry, Residential, and Agriculture – from 2000 to 2020. The most obvious pieces of information are that Industry consumption was the highest and Agriculture was the lowest throughout the period. Transport and residental sectors both saw an overall increase.

Both the industry and transport sectors consistently had the highest energy consumption. In 2000, Industry sector used about 510 petajoules, compared to 320 petajoules used in transport sector. Next, industry sector peaked at approximately 520 petajoules in 2010. Then declined steadily to its lowest point roughly 440 petajoules by 2020. Transport sector showed continues growth, reaching a peak of 410 petajoules in 2015, before dropping slighltly to 380 petajoules in 2020.

The remaining two sectors residential and agriculture both recorded significantly lower energy consumption levels throughout the 20-year. Residential energy usage grew steadily from just over 200 petajoules to its highest at about 260 petajoules by 2020. In contrast, agriculture sector saw a minor decrease overall, starting at around 80 petajoules in 2000, steadily falling to approximately 70 petajoules by 2020.
