Band 8+: a big salary is more impostant than job satisfaction. agree or disagree

Note: Both the topic and the essay were created by one of our users.

Nowadays, one school of thought holds that selecting a career with high salary has more benefits, although they do not find it appealing. I completely disagree with this view and strongly believe that job satisfaction is much more crucial compared to high wages.

On the one hand, I assert that satisfaction in jobs generates a feeling of happiness and fulfillment that money can’t afford. Even if one gets paid with high salaries, they can hardly enjoy their lives while they are under constant stress and tiredness. Conversely, chasing ambitions always brings personal joy and pleasure. To illustrate, many artists, such as those who play pianos or guitars, chose a career path not for the financial rewards, but for genuine love for music. This explains why selecting a job brings about a more meaningful delightfulness than solely focusing on the financial benefits.

On the other hand, doing what we are actually keen on helps to maintain motivation and facilitate career-developing opportunities. There will always be a strong correlation in job satisfaction and performance. Those who are passionate about their jobs usually excel in their field and achieve better feats than those who prioritize payment over personal preference. For instance, Pham Nhat Vuong, a famous Vietnamese entrepreneur, used to give up a well-paid job in Ukraine to return home and start a real estate business. After about a decade, his company grew into one of the leading corporations in Vietnam, and Pham Nhat Vuong himself became one of the most successful and influential businessmen both domestically and internationally. Therefore, the merits for building a career by starting from a passion can be very significant, contributing positively to both personal life and job.

In light of the above, I strongly believe that job satisfaction is much more important than well-paid jobs, as for the fact that it makes people more joyful, motivated, and ultimately more successful in both their career and life.
