In the modern era, many people sign up for credit cards that allow them to shop now and pay later. Although this practice offers certain benefits, I believe its drawbacks are far more significant.
On the one hand, it is undeniable that credit cards bring some advantages. First of all, users can purchase even when they lack cash, without needing to pay immediately. This is very important because people do not always have enough money to pay for unexpected expenses, such as hospital fees or car repair costs. Moreover, this especially becomes helpful when users can divide a large amount of money into smaller monthly payments, instead of paying it in only one time. As a result, their monthly budget is not depleted, enabling them to cover essential requirements like food or living expenses.
On the other hand, owning a credit card can bring many detrimental impacts, not only on the cardholders but also on banks. Failing to repay a debt on time can create a financial burden for people, trapping them in the cycle of earning income and then paying it back. Therefore, with regular bills added, they may become exhausted, poor, and run out of savings for emergency needs. In terms of banks, they suffer from a large number of clients who are not capable of clearing their debts. This state not only make financial troubles for these organizations, but also affect their business partners and shareholders.
In conclusion, whereas using a credit card provides certain benefits, especially when people are lacking money, I am firmly of the opinion that it brings more flaws. If users do not manage their money efficiently, they will easily suffer a huge financial problem.
