We should ban the advertisements that are targeting the children these days. I completely agree with this, because not only children are easily influenced by these ads, but also it is harming the decision making skills of the children.
To begin with, advertisements in recent times are more focused towards children, as they are easily influenced by them. These ad companies are doing this by particularly making it more colorful, enjoyable and including trending cartoons. As a result, a child is fascinated by the ad and tries to convince its parents to buy that particular product, even though it is not required. My nephew, for instance, loves watching cartoons on television. Whenever an ad pops up on the TV, and if it includes his favourite cartoon, then no matter what the product is or whether he needs it or not, he will force his parents to buy the product for him.
In addition to this, ads are forcing the children to make the wrong decision. By producing these kinds of ads, children are losing their ability to choose what is good for them and rather just deciding to buy whatever that looks fun. For example, Horlicks is a beverage company, which always promotes to make a child taller, stronger and sharper by including children’s favorite sports people in the ad. Because of this, a boy believes it blindly, just because his favorite sports person is present in the ad and buys it. Therefore, I believe that, these promotions are snatching the art of decision making from our children.
In conclusion, banning the advertisements is necessary, which are particularly aimed towards children. So that the children get to decide what they actually want without these ads in turn improving their decision making ability
