First of all, no matter if people are educated or uneducated, people, some industry doesn’t require a high level of education. Secondly, the main thing we need to know is that consumerism stimulates economic growth. The more goods are produced and consumed by society. As a consequence, it boosts the rate of the economy of the country. On the other hand, there are some drawbacks of consumerism, such as the loss of manufacturers’ jobs, leads to a less personal wealth, fewer public services, shrinking tax base, a growing negative balance of trade. And I shouldn’t forget to mention that consumerism causes environmental damage. Factories pollute air. Emissions from industry factories spread into the atmosphere. As a result, people suffer from this issue.
