The line graph illustrates the changes in usage of four types of transportation in metropolis from 1995 to 2020, measured in five yearly intervals.
The usage of bus and light rail both start at about 5 million trips in the year of 1995. Since then the usage of light rail has seen a massive increase starting from 2000 to 2010. Overtaking bus in 2002 with five 5.5 million trips. Therefore it has progressed to its peaking point of more than eight million trips in 2020. On the other hand, bus started with more trips than light rail yet it remained with less than 6 million trips until 2015.Thus explains the reason of light rail overtaking it. In general bus shows a slower and steadier rise. By 2020 it gained more than 7 million trips
Whereas motorbike and private car has not shown much change since1995. The usage of motorbike fluctuated. In general, it has had a continuous rise which led it to 3.9 million trips in 2020, never going beyond 4 million. Private cars had the most popular usage of more than 6 million trips in 1995. Although it has shown a slow but sure drop all the way lower than 6 million people in 2020.
In general, there was an increase in travel over the period. The use of public transport markedly increased. However there has been a slight drop in the usage of private cars.
