The bar chart shows the average daily time devoted to work by five age groups (16-24, 25-34, 35-44, 45-54, 55+). It is noticeable that older people tend to spend more hours on non-profit work, while younger people dedicate significant part of the day on earning money.
The amount of daily hours on a paid work for the youngest group is 7 hours per day on average, while the people aged 25-34 tend to devote one hour more for their jobs. However, this trend is reversed later, and with the increase of age the amount of time spent on work each day gradually decreases, till the point where persons older than 55 devote only 4 hours on paid work.
In contrast, the hours allocated to unpaid activities follow different pattern and increase over time. There is gradual growth in the amount of hours each group dedicate to unpaid work. Although the youngest group spends only 2 hours daily on unpaid work, the amount of time the oldest group spend on it is increased in trice (6 hours a day).
Overall, the bar chart presents changes in the amount of hours people spend on unpaid and paid activities due to their age. Even though older people tend to spend less time every day earning money than younger groups, they are more engaged into unpaid work.
