The bar chart compares information about how many jobs were there in tourism concerned industries in the UK from 1989 to 2009.
Overall, the figure for restaurants saw a dramatic increase and become the consistently higher figure, while that for hotels observed a period of stability with slight fluctuations. Meanwhile jobs in sport and leisure and travel and tours decreased noticeably over the 20 years period.
In 1989, the number of jobs in restaurants started at more or less 1100 million and this was followed by a noticeable rise to 1600 million in 2004. Despite a growth it fell to estimated 1300 million in 2009. Figure for hotels increased from about 1050 to 1400 between 1989 and 1994 but it saw a significant decrease to estimated 1050 in 2009.
The quantity of job in sport and leisure started at 900 million in 1989 then, it dropped 700 million in 1994. That for sport and leisure recovered its degree in 1999, reaching more or less 1100. After that it dropped to 700 million in the end of the years. (in2009). The figure for travel and tours increased significantly to 1050 in 1994 before decreasing to 400 in 2009.
