The bar graph depicts elements of GDP in the UK between 1992 and 2000.
Overall, it can be seen that both the IT and service industries experienced a rise in their proportion of GDP. The IT industry’s share of GDP was always greater than that of the service industry throughout the given period.
Having an initial value of about 6% in 1992, the IT industry’s fraction of GDP rose rapidly to just above 8%. Subsequently, it suffered a slight fall of approximately 0.5% in 1996 before it dramatically went up to nearly 15% in 2000. At the end of the period, the portion of IT industry had a value of twice that of the Service industry.
Similarly, the service industry’s proportion of GDP increased steadily, with no real decreases in the given period. Starting with a value of about 4% in 1992, the figure saw a remarkable spike to just above 6% in 1994 before it increased constantly to the value of 8% until 2000.
