Nowadays, the demand of higher education graduates is increasing. Some people argue that students should learn whatever they like to enrich their knowlegde, while other people believe that students must focus on certain subject that would be beneficial for their future. In this following essay, I would like to discuss both views in details. I personally believe that students have the right to choose whatever subjects they like to study.

Some people believe that students should only be allowed to explore certain subjects that would be advantageous for them for several reasons. Firstly and foremost, they believe that the jobs related to science and technology are prestigious and high-paying jobs. For example, doctors could earn more money than others social subjects related jobs such as news anchor or political analyst. By getting those science or technology related jobs, people could gain more respect in our society because their jobs are highly valued. Secondly, recently, most of science and technology graduates could be more easily accepted when applying for a jobs. This is because the recruiter see science or technology graduates smarter than other graduates.

However, other people believe that students could choose whatever subjects the like for several reasons. To begin with, if students can only be allowed to take certain subjects, some jobs might be extinct in the future and could disturb our society. For example, if the number of teachers decrease, it could cause major problem to our educational system. Thus, maintaining wide variety of jobs is essential for our society. Secondly, students can develop their potential and skill by focusing on the subjects they like. If the students are forced to study somethings they do not like, they might not develop their skill and potential.

To sum up, I would argue that students must be free to explore their fullest potential by choosing whatever subjects they like. This would be essential to maintain the balance in our society.
