It is argued that iPhones and iPads are getting popular among 1st school students. The main problem is children getting distracted by smartphones and it can be solved by mobile phone restrictions in elementary schools.
These days smartphones are a frequent occurrence in children’s school life and distracts them from learning. This is because cell phones make kids less focused and as a result they cannot learn a new thing properly. Moreover, school students at such a young age consider online games far more engaging rather than education. In Kazakhstan, for example, 56 percent of kids have their own iPhone and they do not complete home work since they devote a great deal of time on smartphone.
To tackle this issue, it is essential to ban mobile phones in the classroom. In addition, they could have start to get a good grades when they are fully concentrated on study. In other words, when their phones around them they may receive notifications and new messages from WhatsApp or Instagram which leads to scattered focus. Due to this issue prohibition is pivotal and it reduces unnecessary screen time in order to keep kids’ attention at one place. For instance, Japanese government banned phone usage till the 8th grade since 2009 and thanks to this restriction Japanese pupils more intelligent and receive a relevant knowledge on time.
In conclusion, mobile phones are major distraction tools and causes a significant problem to the primary school students. In order to solve this serious issue Ministry of Education must activate a law which prohibits phone usage on the study room, especially for younger students.
